I know a Catherine who goes by Kitty at school and Katie at home.
I also know a Kathryn who just goes by Kathryn.
And I know someone with the middle name Katherine.
Because I know so many, I probably wouldn't use it. And because the -rine ending makes me think it should be pronounced reen, not rin. But it's a nice name.
