Help[Surname] Re: What does the surname Beckmann form a German background mean?

There is a book titled, "German-American Names," by George F. Jones, c1990. Page 76 offers two meanings for BECKMANN : 1) dweller on a brook (which agrees with the meaning posted by The LP) and 2) baker. I was unable to find further etymology for baker in that book.
