If you don't like the way it's supposed to be pronounced, I don't think it's fair that you use it. It's like naming your child Emily and insisting that it be pronounced eMILLy, Benjamin "ben-JAY-min," Victoria vic-to-RIE-ah, Charles "Char-less." It's incorrect and it's not the same name.

I dislike how it sounds too, although it's been growing on me. If I met a Persephone I would be made happy, but if I met a Purse-a-phone I would become quite depressed and probably post an unhappy message about it on BtN.
