I've had it on my lists as part of my Cordelia Meredith combo, but I'm starting to love Meredith on its own as a fn. So, what do you think of Meredith? Do you think it's going to be swept up in the same Grey's Anatomy effect that helped catapult Addison toward the top? How does Cordelia and Meredith sound for sisters? Is Meredith Alexandra (mn honors my mother) too long? Feel free to suggest other Meredith combos.

I prefer Meredith on a boy but it doesn't bother me on a girl (like, say, Sidney or Darcy does). Meredith has the potential to end up on my girls' list too.

Meredith and Cordelia sound fine together, as does Meredith Alexandra. Length never bothers me.

You should always check where someone is from before posting rude messages like that.

Lindsay, Ashley, Meredith - all of these were and still are in many countries male names.

Also, please read the FAQ and make your posts more legible. We also ask that you don't abuse punctuation.

Like Rachel says, Meredith is a masculine name in Wales. Even in the US, Meredith was on the boys' most popular list until 1954. There are plenty of male Merediths out there.

I like Meredith on a girl. I don't like it on a guy simple because I've only known girls with the name. I know a Meredith and she is the sweetest and most naturally beautiful younge women I've ever meet.

1 - I really like the name Meredith, especially with the nn Merry.
2 - Maybe, maybe not. I'm thinking not.
3 - Cordelia and Meredith sound great as sisters.
4 - Meredith Alexandra is not too long, imo. Alexandra is nms but if it's honoring your mother, then that's great.

It's not ugly or anything, but I'm not crazy about it either. It's always looked like some elaboration of Edith to me, I find it a bit dowdy. Cordelia is gorgeous, though.
