Arthur and I had been omn the list to adopt for 2 years when someone from the agency stopped by and informed us they may have found us 3 children to come and live with us. A teenage girl was pregnant and planned to give her children us for adoption. We met the girl (at her request) and she decided that she trusted us to take care of her children.
Four months later we brought home 3 beautiful baby girls. They're so small and really cute! They are identical and we've put a coloured dot on their hands to tell them apart. (Our initial plan had been to dress them in diferrent colours, but that proved to be tricky around bathing time, and we didn't want to risk making a mistake) All 3 are doing remarkably well.
One of Athur's best friends (Samantha) got into a car accident when she was on here way over here. At first it seemed like she was going to be fine and she had sustained no serious injuries, but it appeared later that her liver was torn. They had missed that at the hospital and she died in her mother's car when she drove her daughter back home. Arthur was really concerned about her 3 children and wanted for them to come and live with us. I told him that I felt there was no way we could ever give those 3 children the attention they need while taking care of our own girls. I also didn't want our girls to suffer any loss of care because of this, but I didn't tell him that. Arthur understood that it was just not doable for us to take those kids in and we spoke with Sam's mother about who would look after them. Her mother said she would like to take all of them in to take care of them, but since she was just a single woman, it would get problematic for her. Sam's sister (mother of 4 herself) also said that she wanted to take care of them, but that she wouldn't be able to handle being a mother of 7. In the end little Ivy went to live with Sam's sister, because she'd be able to nurse her still, since she had a 8 months old son herself. Ally went to live with her grandmother, so she could still live in her own neighbourhood and go the same school. Arthur insisted that Griffin would come to live with us. I tried to prevent that from happening, but Arthur said there was no way he was going to make him go to an orphanage. I opted the idea of having him live at his grandmother's house as well, but she had said that she wouldn't be able to take care of him. In the end I agreed, but I'm not exaclty happy about it. He's a nice kid, but we've got our hands full as it is... I did want him to have the same last name as us and our daughters if he we were going to raise him. We ended up changing his last name and removing his MN Nick, because we both hated it and Arthur knew that it had had no special meaning to Sam.
Random event number: 3
+ small note: It's pretty tricky to name same-sex triplets from such a small namebank. Maybe next time you could give someone some extra names if they have triplets?
