Miriam is awesome. I sorta dig old-fashioned girl names that don't end in the letter a. As for nns, I love Miri and Mem. Mamie perhaps could also work.

My great aunt is Miriam nn Miri!
I have heard of Mimi too.

I love the name Miriam too, it has such a pretty sound and you hardly ever hear it. I think the nn Miri is lovely.

Miriam is gorgeous and Miri is my favorite nickname--I love it. I also like Mimi, Mira, Ria, and Mia.

I really dislike Miriam, I can't the appeal of it. Miri would be nice as a nn

I used to love this name; in primary school, I had a classmate with this name. Because of her (she was a shy, yet warm and intelligent person back then), I thought the name was soft and unpretentious. Nowadays I pretty much hate it, because I now know someone else with the name who I absolutely cannot stand. It makes me cringe every time I hear it. Unfortunate.

But otherwise, the name is not too common (at least not where I live) and a person would have no problems with this name throughout life.

Miri is a cute nn, as is Mimi and Mim.

Miriam's gorgeous. Miri and Mary work well as nns. Mimi, Mim, Mira, and Ria are also possibilites.

Mary, Miri, Mara, Mimi, Remy might all work.
