[Opinions] Zooey and Cote
I really love both Zooey (zoo-ee) and Cote (co-tee), but I wouldn't want to use them as full names. So I need some names that they could be nn's for.Plus what do you think of the names in general? And what about spelling Cote Coty? I don't really like it as much, but since my children probably won't be of Spanish decent it might make more sence.TIA for any help. Any mn combos will be apreciated.

I love Zooey but Cote is really not my style (plus, I never would have guessed the right pronunciation).
In Franny & Zooey, I believe Zooey was short for Zachary? WDYT?

Zooey? "zoo-ee?" Not my style, although I love Zoe ("zoh-ee")Cote? "co-tee?" Not my style either. It reminds me of Cote d'Ivoire, which has a gorgeous sound when said all together and in a French accent. But Cote I would say "coht" and that's not your pronunciation. The only other thing that comes to mind is coyote. Not pleasant.

I love Zoe as well. Zooey sounds like you're describing something zoo-like ('this place smells zoo-ey'). There's an actress named Zooey Deschanel, but she pronounces her fn ZOH-ee, despite the spelling.I think there's an actress (or character? on NCIS maybe?) named Cote who pronounces co-tee. No idea how legit it is. I abhor Cody and anything that sounds like it, though, so this does nothing for me, either.
ETA: Yep, I just checked. Actress Cote de Pablo is on "NCIS". Her real name is Maria.
