I love Eirene and Irene. I much prefer the Greek pronunciations.

I love it-I think the sound is so pretty.

I love it! It used to be a favourite on my PNL. It's a nice, rarer alternative to Irene. I've always thought for some reason that it was pronounced eh-REN-ee, after watching a character's name on a tv programme be pronounced that way. The original Greek pronunciation isn't bad either.

I would prefer the pronounciation closer to Irene, but I like the different spelling; it reminds me of Eire, traditional name of Ireland.

I think Irene/Eirene is a very pretty name. I would use it as a middle name however.

Eirene and Irene are the same name. They are just different transliterations of the Greek name Ειρηνη. In Greek, it would be pronounced almost like 'eer-EE-nee'.
