Addy's full first name is something along the lines of Aduke, though I don't know if that's spelled right or not. I think it was her grandmother's name, or at least the name of an ancestor from Africa.

I think it was that Aduke came over on a boat from Africa when she was a young girl. She had a cowrie shell that she had taken with her. That shell was what Addy's mom gave her on a necklace during their escape from the plantation.
I don't think that Addy's full name is Aduke. I think she's probably named after her. But they might never have confirmed it. It could go either way.
