Luke can definitely stand on its own, what with the Bible and everything...but I really don't like it. There are just too many drawbacks in my mind- the whole Skywalker thing, plus it rhymes with puke (and really the whole "uke" sound is just unattractive to my ears), and all the Lukes I've known have been beefcake cheeseballs (with one adorable little "Lukey" being the exception!). Lucas is no better, all I hear is mucus. I do however, like Luca and also Isla's suggestion of Lucien.
