[Opinions] Re: Scandinavian, German and Eastern European names
I'm glad that you like some of my native names! (I'm half Finnish half Russian)¨Aina - Really nice! (But I like Aino a bit more)
Amelie - I like it because of the movie
Anastasia - I can't stand it. It is too frilly, pretentious and too popular.
Elva - Not my favourite, but I have nothing against it.
Freja / Freya - Freja is ok, but Freya is totally nms
Katri - Pretty and popular
Kreszentia - Lovely!!
Lisbet - nms, but much better than Elisabeth
Liv - I really like it
Senka - I should add it to my own list some day :)
Seraphina - Nmsaa
Severina - A bit better than Seraphina, but unattractive as well
Siri - Neutral
Siv - Like
Svenja - If it was pronounced sveen-YAH, it would mean pig in Russian
Svetlana - Not a favourite of mine, but I can easily live with it
Theda - Pretty
Vita - I really like it
Zlata - Gor-ge-ous!!!! It's one of my favourite names and I concider it to my daughterBOYS:
Aleksei - I like the nickname Alyosha and Lyosha
Dimitri - I prefer Dmitry, but both are actually nms
Elias - Neutral
Halldor - Sounds like a real, nordic name...
Hinrik - I dislike all the Henry-names
Ivan - I like it
Johann - Prefer Johannes
Ludovic - Nice
Ludvig - Ditto
Luka - I can live with it
Oskari - Prefer Oscar
Stanislav - I love it (It's on my PNL), I also love the nn Slava (but I hate Stas)
Sven - I have bad associations with it
Thorbjorn - Nms
Viktor - Nms
Vladimir - Too popular, I can't imagine under 40-years old Volodya, I also dislike the Putin-association
