I have been told Shuki is a Yiddish nn for Joshua but that it has several meanings as a word in different languages. Do you know anything about it?

I have no idea about the meaning of Shuki in "other languages", but
Smadar
Shir
Sidi's
THe Complete Book of Hebrew Baby Names
does indeed give Shuki as a pet form of Yehoshua, the Hebrew form of
Joshua
.
