[Opinions] Sévérine?
It occured to me today, when musing about the dreadfulness of the Harry Potter epilogue and the fact that Albus Severus would be a very difficult name, that I rather like the name Sévérine, and the combo Lily Sévérine.
Of course, I think Lily Sévérine would come off as a bit Potter-fangirly. So, does anyone have suggestions of first names to go with Sévérine? (Or perhaps even middle names, but I'm not sure about it as a first name...) Also, what do you think Sévérine?

I like Severine, as it doesn't really give off as much of a severing head vibe as Severin does. I would match it with these names on your favorites list:

I know this name under the spelling Séverine (and prononciation sehv-reen) - anyway, it's not bad, but not my style, and I wouldn't associate it with HP, just a regular French name to me.
I think Lily Severine is a very cute combo.
There is a singer Severina (se-ve-reenah), it's a rare female form of the name Severin, which is a local name for a kind of wind.
I've never connected it with Harry Potter, maybe because I knew the singer's name before the books came out.
Layla Sévérine
Penelope Sévérine
Callie Sévérine
Frances Sévérine
Larissa Sévérine
Tessa Sévérine
Virginia Sévérine
Isadora Sévérine
Yana Sévérine
Gillian Sévérine
Fabia Sévérine
Do you like any of these?

Sévérine is pretty and makes an interesting MN. I saw the name Voltairine today, which would also be kinda neat. :D

Since you've such refined tastes, I figure I can toss in some rather unusual old girls along with the more pedestrian choices. ;)
BTW, do you think you might consider putting a line break between your signature and the main body of your posts? I always think it's a part of your messages. ^^;;;

Good point! I...am not sure how to add a line, but I added a dash. Does it help?
Thanks so much for the lovely suggestions. I especially love:
Tamsin Sévérine
Maura Sévérine
Maude Sévérine
Mary Sévérine
Polina Sévérine - Do you think the repeated sounds would be a problem?
Frieda Sévérine
Ursula Sévérine
Florence Sévérine
Thalia Sévérine (THAY-lee-ah)
Flavia Sévérine
Julia Sévérine
Maren Sévérine
Georgette Sévérine
Harriet Sévérine (okay, treading a bit too close ;) - Darn, I didn't even notice Harry/Harriet until you mentioned it. Perhaps I'll put this on the "if only" list with Lily Sévérine...
Ramona Sévérine
Lucy Sévérine
Wow, I "especially like" far too many of those. I'll have to consider the list again later and cut it down to a few favourites...these are really great.

They don't bother me--I think Polina's such a lovely name that it shouldn't matter. Besides, there's a certain poetry to the sound, if you ask me. ;) I'm glad you like them--this is why I like coming up with suggestions for you. There's plenty of space for interesting ideas. :D
And yes, that does help a good deal. If you feel like going liney on us, the tag is < hr > without spaces. I always add a < /hr > right next to it, though I don't recall if that's strictly necessary.

All right, thank you for the help! I added the line, and I'll see if it works out well.
Thanks. It's really great getting such interesting suggestions. I agree, Polina Sévérine is very musical. I can't recal ever thinking about the name much before, but it's beautiful.
