I know this is only a day after I posted Round 2, but I’m hopelessly bored right now (actually, I should be writing a paper, but whatever), and most everyone has done the last round. For those of you who haven’t, here are the links to previous rounds:

All right, here’s the lowdown: it’s been 10 years since your marriage, and so far it’s been productive – you and the old lady have had 5 kids and they’re all still living! Everything is just peachy in Assendorp. Fernanda became pregnant very quickly after her marriage to Viktor and since then they have produced a bright and healthy children; Kasimir, Cosima, Conrad, Valeska and Rosalba. The little royals have all inherited their mother's exotic good looks and fiery temper, little Rosalba especially is the spitting image of Fernanda. The nannies have their hands full with the royal brood - all day long throughout the palace all you can hear is laughing and shouting. The children are totally spoiled and often come and sit on their father in the middle of cabinet meetings. Of course the general public think the royal family is the best thing since sliced bread.

Aleksey has also decided that since he will not recieve the throne after his father (because he is not the youngest son), he wants to join the Royal Army and become a General. He will have to begin schooling at the Royal Academy of Chlebek when he is 13 years old in order to join the Army. Nikolai and Maite are very proud of him.
Their second child is Maryla. She is 7 years old. Maryla is a wonderful older sister and is very motherly. She is also very kind and helpful and can often be found in the palace's kitchen helping the servants. Maryla is also doing very well with her role as Duchess of Chlebek. She knows exactly how to act in public and at balls. She is very popular and the people of Chlebek love her.
Their third child is Mattin. He is 5 years old. Mattin is very different from his siblings. He is very active and is not very good at behaving himself. Nikolai and Maite often leave him at home with for ceremonies because he can not sit still and he always seems to get himself into trouble. Mattin is however a very sweet boy and is very smart.
Their fourth child is Katalin, who is 4 years old. She is just like her mother! She is very sweet, loves animals, and loves to hear fairy tales and imagine things.

What a lot has happened in Grunewald over the last decade. Ten years ago, just months after the long awaited marriage of King Friedrich (Freddie to his friends) and Ariana, Duchess of Valensky, the couple recieved some tragic news. Ariana's father, Lord Harold, Duke of Valensky, had been killed in a Fencing accident. And to make matters worse, he had died without producing a male heir, or indeed any other child apart from Ariana.
Dark times. Valensky's neighbouring countries were all-but ready to battle it out for the sovereignty when news came from Grunewald: Ariana was expecting a child. Now the Generals of the foreign armies scratched their heads in the way that only army Generals can and decided in the spirit fairness to wait until the birth of the child before going into battle. If the child was a boy he would rule with the 'help' of a colation government made up of the other countries leaders, until he was old enough to manage on his own. If it was a girl they would fight. SO the hopes of two nations rested upon the shoulders of Queen Ariana and her unborn child.
So, as if it wasn't enough for John Patrick Thomas von Daalen to be born a Crown Prince, he was also born a ruler of his own tiny nation.... But he is a fine boy and much beloved by the people of both countries.
The following seven years brought the births of three Princesses, as well as another Prince. Marie, Arthur, Sophie and Isabella, while often jealous of their elder brother's joint role (let's face it, how many children get the opportunity to cry out 'Mum, it's not fair! How come HE gets to rule his own country!), are growing stronger by the day, and Grunewald looks forward to an expanding royal family!

In an attempt to protect their children, and at the urging of their loyal subjects, the royal family fled the country and took up residence on a Mediterranean island, where they lived inconspicuously among the natives (albeit, with many servants in tow). Very few of the people of the island nation of Lagmos knew who this new family was, and the Grand Duke and Duchess's children played among the native children, the Grand Duke took up pomegranate farming, and the Grand Duchess wove beautiful table linens. The Grand Duke, however, did not forget his duties to his own country, and also worked vigorously to ensure that the best doctors and sanitation specialists in Europe were being sent to Westenberg to see an end to the Plague. Meanwhile, the royal couple's fourth child was born abroad. After a year and three quarters of living away from their home country, the royal family was able to return to Westenberg, and what a glorious return it was! Parades heralded them into the capital city of Arschheimenschnutzel and the family settled back into life in Westenberg, though the do continue to take a yearly holiday to Lagmos every summer. All seemed well, but trouble lurked on the outskirts of Westenberg. The neighboring kingdom of Yurkleheid had also fallen victim to Plague and lost their king along the way, and now his son and heir, the new King Philbert, is throwing harsh words at the Westenbergers for not extending their help during the time of illness. What will become of this feud? Will it erupt into war? Or will the Scholar King find a way to settle the dispute peacefully?

The religion, while it has many of the pagan characteristics of old Kosshan religions such as celebrating major feasts at the solstices, is nominally the same church of the Vivarians, and the clergy are part of the network of that church. Consequently, clergy are exempt from fiefdom and therefore from taxation.
The von Shriek family has been in power for about 350 years at this point. They got there by dynastic strategy: a von Shriek daughter married the only son of the Kasselmark heir. They make their residency in the capital city of Frienne, a walled city with a lovely lovely river in it.
Klaus's marriage with Anna Luisa was the result of a happy coincidence.

Everything's good here. With the five beautiful children, the economy is blooming and everyone is happy.
