I like it, but moreso as a nickname.

Lovely. It's on my list. So cute and fun. I do think I prefer it as a nickname for Theodora (because hey, then you get two great names), but it's mature enough to be a full name. Are you pronouncing the "th"? (I say TAY-da.)

The summer before my senior year

in highschool, I went to a type of academic camp (Kentucky's Governor's Scholars Program). One of the girls I met there was named Theda. We quickly became very close and spent almost all our time together. She lived across the state from me, but after camp we wrote several letters to eachother. She was a brilliant, funny, beautiful girl with long black hair.

The next spring, we had a reunion of all the scholars. On the way to the reunion, Theda was in a car accident and became a quadriplegic. I've since lost touch with her, but I'll always like the name because of knowing her.

I kind of like it.

Eh, I don't care for it. It's too "old" sounding for me, and I normally like old-fashioned names. Names like Neva and Letha fall into the same category for me. Maybe the problem is that Theda is too short for me. I tend to like longer, fussier names.

I like it said TAY-da or TEH-da, but it really gets under my skin when it's said with an English "Th" sound. I think it's just hideous as "THEE-da." I'll go completely one way or the other depending on pronunciation.

Theda looks nice and sounds nice, and it reminds me of Theda Skocpol, a famous and accomplished political scientist. It's very cool all around.
