...that Damian *sounds* a bit like "demon", therefore it must *mean* "demon", since everybody knows that all words that sound similar necessarily have similar meanings, right?So, since Jason, Freddy, etc. don't sound like anything "evil", it follows they are not "evil" names even though they were used in horror films.

I guess Jezebel has gone into the language as a synonim of "whore" as in the expression "painted Jezebel". It's not actually connected to a film or anything. Isla's question was about names from horror films, rather than names with allegedly "evil" connotations in a more general context.I agree that Jezebel is very pretty, but unusable. A "Jezebel" is also the racist stereotype of the depraved black woman who entices white men, as opposed to the motherly asexual "Mammie" or "Aunt Jemima". So that's what really puts me off Jezebel, personally.
