Went to college with a girl named Aftyn. I believe her middle name was May, which sounds pretty. Anything with one syllable would sound nice, like Leigh. It flows well.

As a middle name, how about Clare for the first name?

I like it, but only for a boy. If you were to use it for a girl, I'd recommend giving her a feminine middle name (like Afton Elizabeth, Afton Victoria, Afton Sophia, Afton Sarah, or Afton Gabrielle, for example).

Afton is one of my guilty pleasures. This is NOT the kind of name that I usually like - at all - but I love it for a girl, and only for a girl.
