[Facts] Does my name mean anything?
My mother says she made up my name, Jasika, derived from my grandmother's name, Jesse. It's not pronounced like Jessica, though. It's juh-see-kuh. I have never met anyone with my name, or a name that was pronounced like mine. Will it ever mean anything? I mean, if it has no meaning of itself, other than that it came from Jessica, will it just forever float around with no meaning attatched?
Just curious. Thanks for your time.

I know what mean your name. I am Adnan ( my first name ) Jasika ( my last name ). I am man 45 from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Europe. JASIKA on my language , bosnian language , mean kind of tree, that kind of tree is in English ASPEN, like town in Colorado, winter ski center. That is only one meaning as I know. If you get this mail , please, respond to me.
Ordinarily I would say that your name means whatever was the intention of the person who gave you that name -- regardless of spelling variations.
However, you are in luck, Jasika! A 'net search revealed that the word "jasika" is Slavic for "aspen tree":

Even cooler, the website goes on to explain that "myths concerning aspen origin are... connected with the Devil." I'm going to make a note of "Jasika" now, and add it to my list of favorite names! (Hey, Priapos & Daividh, it even has six letters!)
So now you can tell people that your name really does mean something, exactly as it is spelt. :)

Hey Nan! Isn't an "ass pen" what Elton John uses to sign autographs? It has six letters too...
Son of a birch! I believe you're right! :)
