I've always had a certain fondness for Angus. I don't really like Clive at all.

Clive to me, is an "old man" name, sorry. I much prefer Angus.

Both are quite cool, but I definitely prefer Angus, esp. if he might have the nn Gus. Clive Owen's gorgeous and all, but Clive's a bit stuffy without that association, I'm afraid. I still wouldn't mind meeting a little Clive, not at all.

I don't like either of these names. Angus reminds me of the beef. And Clive is just kind of too werid for me. If these were the only two names to choose from, I would go with Clive. If it were me, I would keep looking. (then again it's not me, so what does it matter!!) :)

I like both of them, but I think Clive wins.

Clive is a creepy name. It is weak and seedy and it just doesn't present a nice picture to me. Angus is handsome, strong and lovely to me and it will age well. You also have the nn option of Gus which I think is cute.

I love either one, really, but I think Angus is going to be part of a growing trend whereas I"m under the impression that Clive is still completely under people's radars around here.

A note of interest: a cousin of mine and her husband have two kids, Angus Leo (Gus) and Cecelia Maeve (don't know if she has a nickname).

I love Angus (and the nn Gus). I wanted to name a future boy Angus, but dh nixed it and we've decided on no more babies. :)

I'm really starting to like Angus which is funny because I hated it for a longest time. I'm not a fan of Clive though. So, my vote is for Angus.

But here in the U.S. the name Angus gets a bad rap because of a chain of beef restaurants. So the contrarian in me roots for Angus.

I love Clive! It sounds kind of jazzy to me. I picture a Clive to be smooth with the ladies and very funny. It also makes me think of Clive Owen, who is so handsome. Angus, on the other hand, makes me think of Angus Beef. So it's an obvious choice for me. Good luck with your baby!

My vote is for Angus. It's been growing on me lately.

I like Clive, but less. It sounds like cleave and looks like olive to me. (Oddly, I love Olive, which looks like Olive to me. But eh.)
