John Gideon sounds great; it doesn't strike me as too Biblical. I don't believe in the idea that a middle name has any effect on the impression the first name makes though. We just never hear middle names. Unless you would have him go by both names all the time.

John is the name of my nephew. I actually like it fine -- there is a definite appeal in "safe" names for boys.
