[Opinions] Elijah.
I really like this name, but I can't get past the trendy/hippy feeling it gives. I love it mainly because of Elijah Lovejoy.
Do you guys think its too trendy? Too hippy? Too biblical?
Honest opinions, please!

I certainly don't find it too hippy, it is a bit popular, but I don't see it as being trendy. Yes, it sure is Biblical, but it's a name that isn't un-heard of.
My niece's name was going to be Elijah if she had been a boy, so it's grown on me because of that.
It's gotten fairly popular and slightly trendy, but not as much as some names.
I don't really look at a name and think of it as a biblical name for some reason. But I don't think it's too hippy either.
Nice name, may gain ground in popularity though.

I've never thought of it as hippy, but it is a bit trendy. It's very biblical too. I like it though. It was once on my Top 3. Not anywhere close now, but still.

Er...
I don't think Elijah Lovejoy is a combo. He was a famous abolitionist.

I like Elijah, but it's a trendy Biblical name. I'd personally never use it. I much prefer Elias or Eli.
It also really annoys me when people pronounce it "ee-LIE-jah" like actor Elijah Wood does. I had always pronounced it "ee-LIE-zha" - and then the LotR movies came out. I suddenly had hoards of whiny fangirls telling me I pronounced it "so totally wrong." : P

To me Elijah is not hippy at all, a bit trendy and very Biblical. I like it, but prefer Eliyahu (eh-lee-yah-oo). :)

I have a great, great, great grandfather named Elihu. I've always been pronouncing it ee-LIE-hoo. Is it actually pronounced eh-LEE-hoo, then? Or maybe EH-lee-hoo?

eh-LEE-hoo is my best guess, I've never heard this one stressed :)

great biblical name
i don't thinks it trendy but it is a beautiful name.
I love the name Elijah and I don´t associate it with trendy or hippy. Of course, it is a biblical name but I guess most people don´t think about this first when hearing it.
To me it´s a gorgeous name with a beautiful meaning and you should go on with it.

I love that name because it both looks and sounds beautyful. I don't think that the fact that it has become more pupular recently makes it too trendy. And I don't think it's too biblical, but that may depend on how religious you are.

I like it a lot, but it makes me think of Elijah Wood, so I could never use it except possibly as a middle name. *goes off to look for a good first name to use with it*

Actually I've never saw it as hippyish. Trendy, well yes a little. But just in the way that it follows the used-to-be rather obscure biblical boys names trend that names like Noah, Jonah, Jonas, Isaiah, etc... have came out of and became popular in the last few years.
On rather on not it's too biblical, I guess that depends on the person using it. For someone who isn't religious at all, maybe it is, then again maybe not. Personally I don't think it is. There is after all Elijah Wood who has brought the name into the mainstream, making it a strong association that could backburn the biblical association.
