[Games] Clever twin names . . . a judged game!
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to come up with a set of twin names that are definitely related in some way but are related so obscurely that it's not obvious *how* they are related. The most obscure link wins! Post your twin sets (they can be b/b, b/g or g/g, there will be a winner for each) with a short explanation of how they're linked. Of course, twin sets that are in BtN's Twin Names list are not allowed.Have fun!

G/G: Nicole Shayne & Alicia MichelleNicole Zeidman and Alicia Morton are two of Broadway's mid '90s child performers, Nicole as Tommy age 4 in The Who's Tommy, and Alicia as young Cosette in Les Miserables. (They've even been photographed together, the photo is on this page: http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/Balcony/1160/morton.html) They also each have an older brother - Nicole's brother is Michael, another Broadway performer, and Alicia's is Shane. Michelle and Shayne are used as feminine forms of Michael and Shane.B/B: Rex Callum & Joel OliverJoel Grey and Rex Harrison are two of only eight people who have won both an Oscar and a Tony for portraying the same roles on stage and screen, Joel for the Master of Ceremonies in Cabaret and Rex for Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady. My Fair Lady opened on March 15, 1956... Actor Sean Biggerstaff, who played Oliver Wood in the first two Harry Potter movies, was born on March 15, 1983. Cabaret opened on November 20, 1966... Actress Laura Harris, who acted in "Dead Like Me" with Callum Blue, was born on November 20, 1976.B/G: Oliver Bruce & Annie Sarah(cringes at using Oliver twice in the same game) Oliver and Annie are everybody's favorite musical orphans, of course. Sarah Jessica Parker portrayed Annie beginning in March of 1979, Bruce Prochnik portrayed Oliver Twist from January of 1963 to November of 1964. I've realized that my connections are very Broadway-oriented... (I used info from IMDb.com and IBDB.com)
A is for Amy who fell down the stairs, B is for Basil assaulted by bears, C is for Clara who wasted away, D is for Desmond thrown out of a sleigh... !!!!!!!!!! - Tobias, Jesse, Wyatt, Shane, Preston, Maverick, Rebel, Gibson, Shiloh, and Timber... & - Andy

No middle names.G/G: Almas and Margaret -mean "Diamond" and "Pearl" and "diamonds and pearls" is a common phrase meaning riches and the like and it's more discrete than say..oh, I don't know... I've always loved this g/g combo:
Arwen Cosette and Eowyn Fantine
They're names from "Lord of the Rings" and "Les Miserables", two of my favorite books. However, I could never use them in real life...

Astraea and Elizabeth
Astraea was the name of the virgin greek goddess who got tired of the world and was put in the heavens as the constellation Virgo-meaning the Virgin. Elizabeth is for Queen Elizabeth I, who was known as the Virgin Queen. Virginia also works for this combo too, because it essentially means maiden or virgin, but I thought the link to Elizabeth was more obscure.

Clark Ansel & Gable Allon - after my favorite old-time movie actor, Clark Gable (aka Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind)...I'm figuring that by the time I have children, most people won't even remember who Clark Gable is.Jeremiah Ezekiel & Hadassah Ethne - Jeremiah is the title of one of the Old Testament books of the Bible, and Hadassah (also known as Esther) is also the title of an Old Testament book. People might not get that Hasassah is the Jewish name for Esther.

Wow. This makes me really have to think. I guess that's a good thing, seeing as school's starting in, oh my gosh, nine days! Anyway..Madison Gregory & Quinton James
(Both Madison and Quinton are in the last ten names in the 1000 Most Popular Names for Births in the United States 1930 - 1939. James Madison was famous for being one of the writers of the constitution. Quintus was the name of a saint, and so it Gregory.)Claude Siors & Georgina Gladys
(Claude and Georgina are both French names for February 15. Georgina is a feminine form of George, and Siors is the Welsh form of George. Claude is the masculine form of Claudius, Claudia is the feminine form of Claudius, and Gladys is sometimes used as the Welsh form of Claudia. Both of the middle names are Welsh.)Morrigan Circe & Katana Avis
(Morrigan was the goddess of war in Irish mythology, and Katana is a sword, which is used in war. The goddess Morrigan took the form of a crow, which is a bird, and Avis means bird. Circe also means bird.)

* Brendan Connor and Ryan Sean - all Irish, and three royal meanings (Brendan means 'prince', Ryan means 'little king' and Connor is the Angliscism of Conchobar, a legendary Irish king)
* Dylan Thomas and Elanor Rhiannon - this one's a bit more personal to me. It's two Welsh names and the elaborations of mine and Tom's nicknames, but the order is reversed
* Viola and Sebastian - the twins in Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night (everybody always thinks they're just siblings for some reason)

Another idea that I thought of...Edward Christopher and Jack WilliamJohnny Depp has played two characters called Edward in Tim Burton films (Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood). He also famously played Jack Sparrow, who shares a first name with Jack Skellington, a character in Tim Burton's first stop-motion feature film 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'. Finally, Johnny is playing a character in Burton's next stop-motion feature film 'The Corpse Bride'. Christopher and William are Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's middle names respectively according to imdb.com
