[Opinions] Sela(h)
What do you think of Sela? Do you prefer Selah or Sela? Normally, I like the simpler version, but I think the H looks more complete.Any thoughts on --
Selah Gray
Selah Frances
Selah Iris
Selah Margot
Selah Beatrice
Selah Rosalie
-- or alternate suggestions?

Absolutely SelaSelah isn't a name. It's a pause in music and not used as a name, ever. I find it very tacky, like naming your child DC al Fine or something. To be honest, though, I find both names really, really ugly.

I prefer Selah, although I generally like names without the final h (as in Sara). For some reason, Sela looks incomplete to me.Of the combos you listed, I really, REALLY like Selah Gray. 2nd choice is Selah Margot. The rest are nice enough but don't jump out at me like those two. :o)

I love the look of it, and the meaning, but I just can't get into the osund :( I want to but...*shrugs* I agree with you that Selah looks more complete, and I prefer that spelling. Selah Frances and Selah Iris are my favourite combos, I'm also likeing Selah Beatrice and Rosalie.Suggestions:
Selah Rosamund
Selah Verity
Selah Hazel
Selah Imogen
Selah Estelle

I like Selah, but not particularly Sela. Sela just looks trendy and incomplete to me. I actually didn't realize til I just now looked them up that Sela is in fact a name of it's own different from Selah. I've only ever known of Selah. I like the musical association, and it fits in with several other hebrew names that I like. Selah Iris is lovely. Normally I would go for Selah Frances, but I think it needs something a little more sweet and femmie sounding for a middle name.I like these from your pnl:Selah Adeline
Selah EvadneAnd how about these:Selah Liadan
Selah Isolde
Selah Ruth
Selah June
Selah Maeve
Selah Guinevere
Selah Anwen
Selah Catrin
Selah Damaris
Selah Miriam
Selah Juniper
Selah Ivy
Selah Corrine

SelahA friend of mine is named Selah, and I think it's pretty with the H.I like Selah Gray and Selah Frances (Though, wasn't Cora Frances one of your combos already?).

I always prn. it "SAY-lah", though it's supposed to be "SEE-lah", and my mispronunciation makes me think of "c'est la...". It's okay, but not a favorite. I think I like the H on the end, but I'm not sure. I might change my mind on that. Hmm.Of the combos you suggested, I like these best:
Selah Frances
Selah Margot
Selah Rosalie

PronunciationActually, in Hebrew this is pronounced seh-lah. SAY-lah and SEE-lah are both more recent Christian/non-Hebrew speaking pronunciations.

I think it looks better with the h at the end. Sela makes me want to say cellar with an accent, or seller. It just isn't pleasing to my eye.
