From what I know it is typically a Hawaiian name. I have only really seen it spelled Kalea

I don't know where Kalaya comes from, but I don't really like it because to my ear, it sounds like a trendy mishmash of syllables. That's not to say it doesn't have history somewhere, but that's just my view of it.

I've never heard that name before either. I think it's pretty, though. It sounds kinda like a variation of Kayla.
