My first son is also named Gavin - He is athletic, straight A student, and very distinguished as a 10 year old. People gravitate to him. I love the name. There are very few in the same place at the same time.

As somebody else has already asked, "What's your point, exactly?" Nobody had posted anything about Gavin beforehand, but your post has a tone of somebody defending themselves or their name choice. Nobody's arguing with you.

... don't mean to come across as rude and congratulations on having such a fine son, but what's exactly the point of you posting this on a name opinion board? It doesn't seem you want an opinion, since you've already stated you love the name and haven't asked people what they think about it, or any other name, for the matter...
