[Games] Re: I'm a bit late to jump on the bash-wagon, but...
I really respect you for letting others rip on your character names. I write stories also and would not have enough guts to do that! My feelings would get hurt :( But I'll give it a go...
Ella Jane Jackson-This sounds like a little girl to me. Hopefully this is not the name for a full grown woman because I don't think it ages very well. Ella Jane is good but Jackson reminds me to much of Janet, Michael, LaToya and the lot.
Jillian Evanston Shaw, "Jill"-I personally hate the name Jillian but Jill is okay. Evanston would be a good middle name if this is her mother's maiden name or someone elses surname that she was named after. Shaw is a very strong last name, I like it.
Hayley Grace Landon-I hate the name Hayley because it is really trendy and I know lots of cats and dogs with this name also. Grace is pretty and old fashioned and Landon reminds me of Michael Landon, the dad from the Little House on the Prairie TV series.
Rose Theresa Catherine O'Connor-This would be great if Theresa was not in the mix, I don't like that name and I feel it makes the name as a whole too long and bulky.
Susanna Grace Locke-I like this.
Nadia Susan Wakefield-What ethnic background is this character? Nadia sounds very Eastern European to me while Susan Wakefield sounds very Western. I say either ditch Nadia and go for a more traditional first name or change the middle and last to something more exotic.
Regan Jocasta Kendall-Regan was the little girl in "The Exorcist" and if I remember my Greek myths correctly, I think Jocasta was Oedipus' mother that he married. So I hope this is a creepy character because I get very creepy associations from this name. I don't feel the surname Kendall goes with them though.
Paula Mary Brown-Very old lady.
Christina Faith Brown-Very plain.
Jessica Kathryn Yates-Goes well but again very plain.
Jekatya Yates, "Kate"-Jekatya sounds like a noise someone makes when they throw up....yuck.Dylan Eliot Kendall, "Tom"-Why the nickname Tom?Dylan Eliot is good but again I don't think Kendall flows well with it.
Holden Finn Kendall, "Danny"-Again, why Danny? Holden is way too Catcher in the Rye.
Neil Clarke Warren-This name just doesn't sound right. I think it is because both first and middle are one syllable. I like Clarke better as a first name and maybe a two or three syllable middle name.
Jacob Daniel Carver, "Jake"-I picture a strong farm boy. Hopefully that is the image you are going for. Overall, I like it.
Isaac Thomas Locke, "Zach"-Okay I get where Zach comes from but why shorten Isaac? If you refer to him as Zach throughout your story your readers will assume his full name is Zachary and be thrown for a loop when they read his name is really Isaac...I like it but I would ditch the nickname.
Aaron Matthew Locke-Very plain but a nice strong name for a guy.
Hope that helps!
