And Chase on a girl is actually a guilty pleasure. Why? I don't know. In real life though, I think Chase should be a boy.

I actually like it for both. My son Gunner has a best friend named Chase (sister Cheney) that is a boy, but I've heard it on girls and think it's really kind of cute.

I agree with what some others have said. IMO it's bad enogh on a boy, but really awful on a girl, like most of these surnames-as first names.

Every time I hear a parent calling out "Chase" with exasperation, I always think "Well what did you expect?!"

I like it only for a boy, as a nickname for Charles.

To me, it's not a name, but rather a verb and sometimes noun. It's not even remotely pretty.

As soon as I saw this post entitled Chase I immediately thought "Nice for a boy" before I even read the message. I cant even imagine it on a girl. You never really get any Chases over here, male or female. The only Chase I've ever heard of is that guy of Zoey 101 (I *used* to watch it ;)) so I suppose that has influenced my opinion of it.
