[Games] Re: The "Name Your Family of Ten" Game
DH: Nathaniel Adam
DW: VIctoria HeidiDS1 (15): Logan WalterDD1 (12): Julia ElaineDS4 (10): Waldow Leaf "Wally"DD2 (9): Miranda LucilleDS5 (9): Heng Fu "Henry"DS2 (6): Caden JonathanDD4 (5): Rosabella AriaDD3 (3): Bernadette ElizabethDD5 (2): Avril RoseDS3 (0): Jason DanielSo, these are your kids (replace DS1 etc with their usual name, ie the nickname if they use one):Logan (15), Julia (12), Wally (10), Miranda (9), Henry (9), Caden (6), Rosabella (5), Bernadette (3), Avril (2), Jason (0).Logan--Currently interested in all things mathematic and scientific, Logan takes lots of AP classes and college-level summer courses to prepare himself to get into a top school as a premed student so he can get into a great med school. Julia--The beauty queen. Julia loves everything involving hair, makeup, and fashion. She loves sketching her own clothing designs and making other people look fabulous. She has decided that she would like to become a fashion designer or cosmetologist. She also takes choir because she discovered, after filling in for a girl in one of Miranda's shows, that she can sing. Wally--When first adopted, Wally was nervous but excited. His previous home was a disaster, so he was scared this would end up similarly, but was thrilled at the idea of starting over. Wally likes playing sports and has discovered that he has quite a knack for them. Because of his love, he takes 7:00 AM classes and 4:00 PM classes to fit in high-level academics as well as 7 sports a year: Basketball, Baseball, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming, and Track. Miranda--The drama queen around here. Miranda was, of all of the children, the loudest and most frequent cryer. A relative joked that Miranda was practicing her voice. Little did anyone know that she would turn up with one! Just like mom, she wants to be an actress and singer. She doesn't take choir at school, but she does take acting and takes one singing lesson every two weeks. Henry--We decided to keep his name, Heng Fu, but when school rolled around, we panicked. He knew about his adoption, but combine his crazy name with his looks and he could be teased mercilessly! We went to the school and explained and asked for advice. One teacher told us that many of the Asian students in general enroll under their given name and then take on an American name for school and play. We chose Henry so as not to confuse him. He is currently the Chinese representative of our state's "Jr. World Legislation," a program that brings kids of different racial backrounds and nationalities together to discuss issues in the world from many different viewpoints. He would like to be a diplomat or ambassador when he grows up. Caden--Caden is an advanced reader for his age. He runs around the house reading Dr. Seuss books to anyone who will listen. He is the most yelled at member of the family by his siblings for "interuppting everything" with his readings. Instead of taking it to heart, he just runs and finds someone who isn't busy. Rosabella--Rosabella loves to do everything her sisters do. She loves being a model for Julia, a duet with Miranda, and cooking! She loves learning about her heritage through song and food. She also can fluently speak the language and has taught us all to do so as well. She is very cute and smart. Without Rosabella, our life would be very different. Bernadette--Though still young, we can already predict a voice. She is the second biggest crier of any of the children!! However, Bernadette is currently interested in shopping with me and Avril or being a model for Julia and getting something "Lacy." She has insisted that we call her this, in fact, but we refuse. We chose Bernadette for a reason, and we've stuck to it. Lacy will come and go, but Bernadette will not. Avril--Though born to an American girl, we had to honor someone. Her great-grandmother on my side, April. We both hated that bt thought we had no choice. When we told Avril's real grandmother, who is French, she told us that the French word for April is Avril. She said it so beautifully, and since I know some french, we went with it. She is as unique as her name and just adorable. She blends with the family very well. Jason--Not much to say yet. He's a quiet little baby with lots of cute expressions who lets us have lots of sleep time. As with the last few, all of the children have pitched in to help, making the experience of ten kids a little less crazy.
