DS3: Nathaniel Pleasant, 0Morph (15), Evey (12), Des (10), Ruxi (9), Sunan (9), Eddy (6), Annie (5), Kitty (3), Britta (2), and Nat (0).The Meyers live a few miles outside of town on a few acres of land. Their house is old, and desperately needs remodeling, but that's a bit difficult to do when there are ten children with other, equally immediate needs--so money's being put away, slowly but surely. They have quite a lot of yard, including a pasture and barn, but no large animals like horses. There are chickens in the coop, since Morph and Evey have been trying their hands at raising them for 4-H, and in the house, from Des' begging, there is a small aquarium with a guppy for each of the children in it. And Jiji is the little black cat that they adopted (and promptly named after the kitty in Kiki's Delivery Service) a year ago. They have four bedrooms total at the moment, which is definitely not enough, but--well, they're working on it. Morph, Des, and Sunan share a room, Evey, and Ruxi share another, Eddy, Annie, Kitty, and Britta are in a third, and baby Nat sleeps in with Harvey and Lia. The children are enrolled in the local public school district, which is a very good one, on the whole. Morph is a sophomore in high school, Evey is in the seventh grade at the middle school, Des is in the fifth grade at the middle school, Ruxi and Sunan are in the third grade at the elementary school, Eddy is in kindergarten at the elementary school, and the youngest four stay at home during the day.As far as the children themselves go:Morph has defied his extended family's general expectation that he was doomed by his given name to be a dark, surly goth kid; he's mostly into academics, particularly science team, and loves watching Jeopardy! on television when he's not working on homework or working as a cashier at the local McDonald's. While he can certainly be surly, he's generally a stable kid, who is more than willing to give various siblings piggy-back rides when they ask.Evey, like many a twelve year old, gets attached to one thing very quickly, and she's currently very into animals in general, chickens in particular (thus, the 4-H project). She's very good in school and though she tends to fight with Ruxi and complain about her lack of privacy, she is a mostly happy kid who steals her mother's makeup every once in a while. Des is the middle school's Geography Bee champion, and everyone is very proud that he managed to beat out so many older kids. He loves soccer and hates poetry, among other things, and he tends to have very defined preferences, which he is pleased to explain in detail. Ruxi thinks. She thinks and thinks and thinks, and sometimes one can barely believe that she has nine siblings, given how well she can tune them out. She can be as loud and slaphappy as the rest of them, but she tends towards introspection a lot. And sometimes writes poetry, which is then very carefully hidden away.Sunan likes that he has a sibling just his age. He's very friendly--the kind of kid who hugs and wrestles and jumps around while telling a story. He's afraid of dogs and loves to hang around with his oldest brother.Eddy is beginning to read, and he has quickly become very attached to The Little Prince, which Evey read to him one rainy Sunday. It's still too hard for him, but he has declared it his favourite, and the rest of the Meyers are getting a little sick of reading it to him. He also loves colouring and trying to climb trees when his mother isn't looking.Annie wants to go to school right now, and she is most disappointed that girls born in March have to wait another year. She tries to read, but the only book she manages is Dr. Seuss's Hop on Pop, which she has memorized. Annie loves planting flowers in the garden, though she thinks that it's not nice of roses to be thorny.Kitty loves kitties. She meows right back at Jiji when he says anything to her. She's also an expert colourer, having come under the tutelage of big brother Eddy, and tries very hard to keep up with him. Naps are the bane of her existence.Britta is not yet entirely comfortable in the Meyer household, and she cries a great deal over little things. She does love playing outside by the swingset and always looks happiest when it's sunny out.Baby Nat has a big set of lungs, and in this family, that's an important quality. :D He tends to be obscenely cute and a bit too drooly.Array
