I'm quite into Japanese culture (as you can probably tell from my posting name) and I think the Japanese have beautiful naming traditions. Since most Japanese names are easy to pronounce and sound nice, could they be used in an European context or would they just seem plain weird on someone with no Japanese ancestry? (I once met someone named Yoko who had no connection whatsoever to Japan, apparently her parents, old hippies, called her that because of Yoko Ono). Anyway, here are a few which might be useable:
boys:
Akira
Shotaro
Kenji
Hiro
girls:
Akemi
Haruna (really like this one!)
Murasaki (means purple as well as being the name of a famous woman novelist of the 10th century)
Sakura (means cherry blossom. as the "u" sound is very short, it sounds almost like the beginning of "sacred")
