If a Harry Potter fan named a child Severus, it would be sending a very clear message ...
I wouldn't expect it to be popular in a culture where severity is frowned upon, as the words are just too close. Liberty (for a girl, of course) seems a more likely choice ... And the fashion among non-Latino namers seems to be for Celtic rather than Roman names. On balance, then, probably not!
