Here is a website that has some info on the surname Solís,
http://www.surnames.org/apellidos/solis.htm (it is all in Spanish)
Here is another fragment I got from another website,
Basically what it says is that, - When King Don Pelayo was after the Moors, he told one of his captains "Id que sol is" ("go, before the sun rises) meaning that it was early enough to catch them. So when this Captain succeeded in catching the Moors, King Don Pelayo rewarded him with making him governor of the place in which he had apprehended the Moors. This land was then denominated "Solís" by the new governor and all of the governor's descendants were named Solís, after the deeds.
Hope this helps a little. Buena suerte,
Magia.
