[Opinions] Sam
I'm in love with Sam again. But I have come to terms with using Samuel as the full name. What are your opinions on Sam and Samuel? Too boring?WDYT of Samuel James? I know it may be on the boring side but James honors a lot of people.

I love the name Sam aswell! I would be very tempted to just use Sam. I like Samuel with the nn Sam, but I still prefer just Sam. Samuel James is a nice combo. It's classic, not boring!

Sam is one of the few nicknames I can see as a full name without a huge problem. Personally, though, I prefer Samuel. But I like more 'formal' names, in general. Samuel James is a little on the bland side for me, though. Both names are common enough that either the fn or mn in the combo should be a tiny bit less common or even unusual, I think.

SuggestionWhat about Samson? I've always liked that better than Samuel. Just a thought :]No, I do not think Samuel James is boring at all. I find Sam a cute and spunky name for a boy. I don't like it on a girl. It's classic but not too much that it's boring and overused (it definitely is not).

I love Samuel...and because my name is Samantha, i've been called Sam. Come to think about it James honors tons of people and so I dont think of Samuel James as boring because it honors people. Samuel nn Sam is very traditional and cute I love it.

I prefer just Sam over Samuel "Sam". Samuel James sounds ok, but is a bit boring to me. If you must use a full name why not something more daring like:
Samson James "Sam" or Salomon James "Sam"

I prefer Sam on its own, to be honest. I think it works fine, and I'm just not all that fond of Samuel (which doesn't feel right on a lot of people). I know a kid who is always called Sam, and I heard his full fn/ln said recently, and I was like, "Samuel Dagan just doesn't sound as good as Sam Dagan!" (Surname invented to recreate the feeling of the name.) Plus, I love me some Sam Spade. So I'd prefer the jauntiness of just Sam, but Samuel is certainly respectable enough.Samuel James is fine.Array

Really? Because I've always loved just Sam but many people say the name needs something to fall back on. Any middle name suggestions for just Sam?
