[Opinions] Cynthia
I used to think this name was ugly, but now I really like it. I still don't like Cindy, though. I was thinking maybe Cynthia Jane or Cynthia Louise. Any other suggestions?

Cynthia is one of my favorite "retro" names. I actually met a little girl with this name last year, I was so happy to hear it. Not crazy about Cindy either. I like Cynthia Jane.

Cynthia Louise - Cindy Lou?Who! I'll pass, but Cynthia True would be somewhat more doable and as for the name itself ~ Meh, I prefer something a little more fresh like Jacinthe.

My mom is Cynthia Gail. I'm not sure what I think of the name, but I think Cynthia Gail sounds nice.

When I was little, I watched the kid's show "Rugrats" on Nickelodeon. The brat of the show had a damaged doll named Cynthia. The doll had three pieces of blond hair and was very bent up. That's what this name brings to mind. I'm sorry.Cynthia Jane is a nice combo.

You don't have to be sorry. It's interesting to know what people think of when they see/hear a name. I really started liking the name Cynthia after watching the BBC mini-series "Wives and Daughters."

I agree with you 100%. The nn Cindy kept me from loving Cynthia too, until I read on another board that Thia could be a nn. Do you like that any better than Cindy?Cynthia is very light and airy. It's similar to a favorite of mine, Jacintha. I prefer Cynthia Jane to Cynthia Louise, but they are both nice. How about:Cynthia Daphne / Laurel
Cynthia Phoebe (both refer to Artemis, I think. Too much?)
Cynthia Hermione
Cynthia Leto
Cynthia Iris
Cynthia Penelope
Cynthia Persephone
Cynthia Irene
Cynthia Frances
Cynthia Rosalind
Cynthia Mary
Cynthia Alice / Alix
Cynthia Imogen
Cynthia Helen
Cynthia Pearl
Cynthia Isabelle
Cynthia Anais
Cynthia Holly
Cynthia Violet

I likeCynthia Irene
Cynthia Mary
Cynthia Lenore (I like Eleanor better, though)I don't know if I like Thia as a nickname. If I heard it I would think of Thea short for Dorothea or Theodora.

Thanks for the feedback. Cynthia Eleanor is better than Cynthia Lenore. :-)Cynthia Georgina / Georgine popped into my head. Or, Cynthia Caroline / Cynthia Charlotte. The repeated C's look a little strange to my eyes, but the sounds are different. Plus, it lends itself to the nn Cece / C.C.

Cynthia is OK. Cynthia Jane is the best combo.

I like Cynthia (it was a friend of mine's name). Jane and Louise are kind of boring in my opinion. Kind of old ladyish. What about Cynthia Joanna, Cynthia Joann, or Cynthia Joan? Or, Cynthia Leanne, Cynthia Juliet?

Well, I like "old lady" names, so that's all right.
