You all seem to have homicidal tendencies ;). Would it make a difference to you if it was spelled Cillian or Kilian? Anyway, I'm German and in German it doesn't sound like "killing" at all.

At least to my pronounciation rules. And the Irish pronounciation is not known for everyone.
I'm not English either. In Swedish "kille" means "guy" and "killing" means kid (a goat's kid). But almost everyone knows English, so we make these homicidal associations.
