[Opinions] How is this unpopular name pronounced ?
Hi. I am not sure how the boy name Eamon is pronounced. Is it like with an "E" as in Ethan ? Or with an "A" as in Amy ? I really would like to use it for my son Lachlan's middle name. My other ideas are Dylan and Mason. Can you please help ?

Yes-about Eamon/Eamonn starting its popularity run-that is what I reason, because I do not see it being popular 100 years ago, and so on, nor 50 or 40 year ago. But I don't like it because it is unique, but honestly because of Eamon/Eamonn's pronounciation, spelling. I tink it's just plain cute for my little Lachlan.

It might have been in Ireland a century ago, I don't know though. There was Eamon De Valera. (Ok, that is just one man but parents could have named after him). I'm not sure if there's any popularity stats for Ireland for that time.

Thanks for the responses. I thought it was with the "E" sounds, not with the "A". Both ways I like it. I just don't know-it seems quite a few women are in favor with this name-then why is it not up on the popularity charts ?

If Eamon / Eamonn is just starting its popularity run, it may not be popular enough for the charts yet.

It's AY-mun. I love it (but prefer the spelling Eamonn) though I think Lachlan Eamon sound a bit rhyme-y (lokh-lun ay-mun)I live Lachlan as well.EDIT: The pronunciation is given on the Eamonn hyperlink. :)
