Alex and I thought we were done having children, but when Oliver turned 4 we started talking about having one more. However, we decided that we didn't want to bring another child into the world when there were already so many children without families. It was a long process, but we finally welcomed Konstantin into our family! We chose to keep his given first name because he already knows it, but we changed his middle name to Frederick to honor my grandfather.
Of course, everyone thinks that the adoption is just a publicity stunt. We expected that response when we first decided to adopt, but we knew we were making the right choice for the right reasons, and we weren't about to change our minds just because of what a bunch of strangers might think.
