ah I get it, I agree. I think it's important to at least know sime history on the place. :).
The only two place names I would use that I really don't know much about would be Paris (for a boy) although it's not really after the place but a character in Shakespeare. lol. I also want to use Brooklyn, but not because of Brooklyn, NY. I like Brook for a boy, but I thought Brook sounded a bit 'girly' so I thought Brooklyn would sound more boyish. So I guess even though they are the names of places that wouldn't count due to my reasoning but I don't know! lol
