I love Anais, umlaut or no. The accent has a whiff of pretension because it links the name firmly to Anais Nin, a very cultured, important literary figure. Are you OK with these connotations? Also keep in mind that American women called Renee with the accent were probably thought pretentious at one time, but now we're all used to it.
To be honest, I think that Kr8tvleigh spelled names are pretty pretentious and hard to pronounce. For me, the question of whether or not any name is pretentious depends on what I think the name-giver is pretending at, and what brand of pretense I am particularly offended by.
Anais is gorgeous, strikingly feminine and strong. Anais Lydia? Anais Neve? Anais Vivian? Anais Susannah?
