Luca Flynn Hunter, son of actress Anastasia, an actress, and Layne Hunter, a professional bull rider, was born March 7, 2007 in Houston, Texas. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Both mother and child are doing fine.
Three days after Luca was born, Layne was scheduled to compete in a benefit rodeo in San Antonio. He had drawn a particularly nasty-tempered bull named Diablo. Right after they left the holding chute, Diablo spun around, causing Layne to lose his balance. He was thown off, and the bull trampled him.
After he was rushed to the hospital and x-rays were done, it was discovered he had a broken hip and three broken ribs.
