and I'm interested to see the responses. The Ring thing is annoying, and makes me wonder if I could ever really consider using it, but at the same time, its not like shes going to get comments from her school mates as by the time they get old enough to see it it will be forgotton about.

I think the nn's Sami and Mara are both adorable, and give her options. Hmmmm middle names...just don't go with Samara Morgan ;) How about:
