Dale is one of the few truly unisex names that I know. (My mind usually puts names in one category or the other.)
I like dated names, as long as at least 30 years have gone by. It's the recycler in me. But I do find Dale a rather dull name, sorry. I can see using it if you want a no-frills, less-is-more kind of a name. It just doesn't appeal to me personally.
