[Opinions] Andromeda

I've really liked Andromeda for quite some time now. I'd probably never use it, but it's still lovely.
I actually really like the name Andromeda (preferably as a fn). I'd consider using it. I like Annie as a nn for it, just because it amuses me to think about people being unable to guess what her full fn is. I think Annie is a sweet name, so if I ever used it, I wouldn't really mind it being shortened.
Let's see...

I don't like the sound of Andromeda but I think it's a good thing that it can be shortened to Anne/Annie/Andie if the child doesn't like the name and want a more common one.
I don't shorten people's names unless I'm told to - I know many people do - but I'd have thought Andi was more likely than Anne. And I don't think Andromeda is familiar enough to come with an inbuilt nickname. Since she'd be the only Andromeda people ever met, there'd be no convention of shortening it. People call Joshua's Josh because it's just what they're used to.
Even before I consciously knew the meaning, I thought Andromeda sounded evil ... like a baddie is a Disney film ... so I don't like it. Sorry.
ETA: Ignore the bit about the meaning. I was thinking of Antigone. I maintain that Andromeda sounds a bit devillish though.

I'd expect it might get shortened to Andy or Andie. I think that could be sorta cute. I don't really have strong feelings about this name, though. It's mildly cool and mildly sci-fi.
