I think Pippa works better as a full name than many other pet names do - including ones I often see as full names, such as Ellie, Abbie and Jamie. However, I'd much rather see Philippa on the birth certificate because it gives her options. I also like Philippina, for what it's worth, and I think Pippa could work there too.
