[Opinions] Nicolas or Nicholas?
As I have already told you we think about Adam Nicolas as a boy combo for our baby (btw we haven´t decided yet). We have discussed about the spelling of Nic(h)olas. In Germany it is spelled Nicolas to 90% and it seems to me that the spelling Nicholas is more often in the States. Which one do you prefer -Adam Nicolas or Adam Nicholas- and do you think there will be problems with the spelling Nicolas? Thanks!
See our current list in my profile. :D

Well since it's only the mn, then I'd spell it the German way, Nicolas. There shouldn't be too many problems with the spelling .

I much prefer the spelling Nicholas. Nicolas seems very feminine to me, maybe because of the girl's names Nicola and Nicole. It would also get misspelled 99.9 percent of the time. However, since it's a middle name, I don't think it would matter as much.

I think both are perfectly acceptable. It's just my personal preference for Nicholas. Since it would only be the middle name, I wouldn't be too concerned about spelling it Nicolas and having some people put the H in. You don't use your middle name all that much. So I wouldn't use Nicholas just because it's the more popular spelling if you really want to use Nicolas.

Nicholas is more common in the US, but Nicolas is nice. If the child has a German background, then I would say go for Nicolas.

I only like the spelling Nicholas, as it looks much more complete and masculine then Nicolas. I suppose I don't find the spelling Nicolas masculine because it reminds me of the female name Nicole. But, I really think the h rounds out the name nicely.

I guess it's not that much of an issue with a middle name. I prefer it with an h but if you like it without then use that!

I prefer the spelling Nicolas, mostly because I have a weakness for anything unusual, and the normal spelling where I live is Nicholas :-)Since it's a middle name, I wouldn't worry about spelling problems._____________________________________________________________________"There are few more distressing sights than that

Personally I prefer Nicholas but either way, its a nice name and I don't think there should be that much trouble with the spelling.
