[Facts] meaning of Migdalia
I want to know the meaning of my wife's name: Migdalia. Please include references, such as links to other sites. Thank you.

I would be a little surprised if the origin wasn't related to Hebrew "tower of god." Sometimes names are proposed as Hebrew origin that are a stretch, but this is as literal as it gets - migdal means tower, yah means god. Quick googling shows most websites claim that too, although I'm not going to link them because they're not necessarily reliable in general.
The other option I can think of if this name is used mainly by Catholics is that this name is related to Magdalene.

My name is Migdalia also, my understanding is that it's origin is Hewbrew, but mainly used in Spanish countries. It means tower in Hebrew. and I have been told that in the middle east there is a tree by that name. I'm from Puerto Rico
Well, Amygdala are tonsils - does her family contain any medical specialists?
In Hebrew it means "Tower of God"
True!
But I should note that "amygdale" (tonsil) is derived from "amygdalo" (almond). I guess tonsils are thus named 'cause they are either almond-shaped or almond-flavored (yum-yum).
So her family could, alternatively, be almond enthusiasts.

There's a pun about nutty in there somewhere, but I'm heroically resisting it!
What's your wife's ethnic background?
