I have a thing for "I" names, not sure why, but I kind of like this (though I prefer Iona). I have always pronounced it like eye-OH-nee because that's the way the actress Ione Skye pronounces it (she was in one of my favorite movies, "Say Anything"). At least I think so. :b

I-O-nee. I like it some, but not enough for it to be a favourite.
People would have problems pronouncing it often.-Seda*Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com

I thought is was I-own-ee. I associate it with the actress Ione Skye who was in Say Anything.
I think it's pretty, but probably not something I would ever use personally.

The smiles of the children, mean more to me than gold
They are the greatest treasure that humankind does hold
Yet many are abanndoned and left to face cruel fate
Victims of ignorance famine war and hate
As I hold my little ones and put them safe in bed
I think of all the others ones who are cold and unfed
I am but one person and my voice is very small
But if we shout together the world will hear us all
Its time to stop our bickering and set ourselves a task
To make this world a better place thats all the children ask

I wouldn't pronounce it either what you've listed, but as I-own. I don't care for it, since it may cause spelling and pronunciation problems, and I don't find it to be masculine or feminine.Edit: Added a comment.

I prn it i-OWN-ee. The only connotation that I have is that I feel it's Greek and feminine. That's it...nothing else. It has a pretty sound, but I just don't associate it with anything.Proud adopter of eight PPs! See my profile for their names.
