[Opinions] Eliska
I want to name our daughter Elizabeth after my grandmother. My husband is Ukrainian and wants a Russian name so I suggested Eliziaveta. He hates it, but we like a Czech variation: Eliska. What do you think?

It's close to one of my favorite names, Elyse, and the "ka" adds a cool twist!

I like it as a nice alternative to Elizabeth. I knew a Bulgarian girl once by the name of Elitsa (ee LIT sah) which I thought was pretty but do not know if it is at all related to the name Elizabeth.

I don't care for it. I'd prefer Alyssa. If it must be used for family, then I suggest using it as the middle name. I much prefer Elizabeth, though.

Hmmm...first thought was that it was pretty. Then I said it aloud and now am not so sure I like it. I do think it would grow on me, most likely.
