[Opinions] wdyt of Quenby?
Its scandinavian and it means womanly...does anyone know how its pronounced? I'm still not sure if I like it or not...

I had a girl Cabbage Patch Kid when I was young named Quenby something, and I believe it was spelled Quenby (I didn't name her, that was her 'given' name; but CPK's are known for having 'unique' names...LOL).
But I also know a guy (a doctor) named Quinby. I see it as more of a masculine name, and Quenby just looks misspelled to me.

It's not Scandinavian, or a feminine name, as I said over on the name facts board. It's an English surname, ultimately of uncertain origin, though it's possibly from a place name.
If Quenby's a family surname, I don't mind it for a girl. I'd prefer it as a mn even in that case though, since imo it sounds rather masculine.

The name's nice, and I'd pronounce it kwen-bee, but I'd question the origin. Quenby just doesn't sound or look Scandinavian to me, unless this is an English variation of a name that is spelled very differently in Scandivania.
I never heard of the name. I'm assuming, by the meaning, it's a female name? It has a surname-y feel to it, and by the way I'd pronounce it, it has a masculine feel to it. I pronounce it as Qwen-be.
If you want more information about it, you're better off at the Name Facts board.

Sorry, but "queen bee" is all I can think of.
