[Facts] Re: What does Rhiannon mean?
in reply to a message by Rhiannon
Names including Rhiannon, Rhiain, Rhian, Rhianedd, Rhiangar, Rhianwen and Rhianydd all share the Welsh element Rhian-. According to one source (http://www.medievalscotland.org/problem/names/rhiannon.shtml), Rhian-, derives from British rix "king" and/or from a Welsh word meaning "maiden, virgin".

I REALLY WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT MY NAME MEANS AND WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD GET BACK TO ME ON THIS SUBJECT. MANY THANKS RHIANNON XX
I looked up my name on the net and found that it means 'great divine queen', nymph, welsh witch, maiden, goddess and princess.
